I took this shot of an octopus during a dive on the North Shore of Oahu, at Shark’s Cove.
I often see octopus on my dives, and got lucky with this one.
We were in about 25 feet of water and had been out about 20 minutes when I spotted an octopus sitting on a rock. We captured the octopus in mid flight, and it soon became very calm and did not try to get away.
After a couple snapshots, and a close study of this beautiful creature, we let it go and it quickly found another hiding space among the coral.
Wow! What a terrific experience!
If you are interested in going on a dive in Hawaii, give me a call. I know a lot of great spots and can get you hooked up with a local dive shop for great deals on equipment.
Perhaps you could be my next featured photo with one of these amazing underwater creatures.
I always dive with my camera and snap photos of the people I dive with so they have a record of their trip and some fun photos to brag about when they get home. Like this one.
